This deep, dark beauty is one we almost let slip away. We first noticed it during culling in its very first year, after I had accidentally cut the plant back. Thankfully, we paused before discarding the tubers and realized we had something special on our hands.
Since then, we’ve been slowly and intentionally building our stock, and it has become one of our most anticipated varieties, especially for fall weddings. The plants grow to about 4 feet tall, producing 4-inch blooms on strong, dependable stems that designers love to work with.
Its rich, velvety color pairs effortlessly with nearly any palette, adding depth and drama without overpowering. We’re growing this one carefully for now, and we can’t wait to share it more widely when the time is right.
