Our Story

We’re Sean and Roe, the faces behind Sweet Briar Flowers. After Sean retired from the military following 20 years of service, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest and started chasing a dream we didn’t even know we had yet.

In 2019, we purchased a two-acre farm where we first learned and quickly fell in love with growing flowers and caring for honeybees. Sean learned the ins and outs of responsible beekeeping, while Roe dove headfirst into growing flowers and vegetables.

In 2021, after losing our dog Layla to cancer, our farm took on a deeper purpose. Layla adored the dahlia field, and that season inspired us to begin saving seeds and hybridizing new dahlias in her honor. What started as a heartfelt goal has grown into a passion for creating unique dahlia varieties.

Today, we actively hybridize new dahlias at our farm in Enumclaw WA, participate in dahlia shows, and share our work by selling dahlia tubers online to growers across the country.

Farm life keeps us busy, but it’s incredibly rewarding, especially getting to connect with fellow dahlia lovers, growers, and supporters near and far. We’re so grateful you’re here and part of our journey.
