We named this dahlia after my grandmother who is turning 97 this year because her quiet glow that reminds me of my grandma’s warmth. There’s a gentle strength about her, steady and kind. Soft in spirit, yet quietly resilient. She’s been loved by so many of her students over the years. Ask any of them, and I’m sure she’d be remembered as one of their favorite elementary school teachers. I hope to honor her by naming Roe Lydia safter her.
